Authorities ID Winnie man, who died in Port Neches shipyard fall

PORT NECHES — A Winnie man is dead after a fall at Sterling Shipyard on Saturday, authorities said.
Jefferson County Pct. 7 Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett said the incident happened at 1:22 p.m. at Sterling Shipyard, 906 Main St. in Port Neches.
The deceased, identified as Gelacio Martinez, 60, was “going up an incline at Sterling Shipyard and fell,” Burnett said.
The fall appeared to be accidental, and the man had head injuries, authorities said.
Burnett did not have information on where the man was when he fell at the shipyard or further details.
