Police are investigating a Monday night shooting in Port Arthur, authorities said.

At approximately 8:42 p.m. Monday, Port Arthur Police Department officers responded to 4251 Jimmy Johnson Blvd., Pebble Creek Apartments, following a “shots fired” report.

Officers located a male victim on the scene who sustained a gunshot wound to his lower body.

“The wound did not appear to be life threatening,” a PAPD release said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the Criminal Investigation Division is leading the investigation.
