By The Numbers: Jefferson County COVID-19 cases jump to 27

The Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center said the COVID-19 call center received 174 calls on Tuesday.
As of Tuesday, there are 27 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jefferson County, with 7 in Port Arthur, 1 in Groves and 1 in Nederland.
The Operations Center is coordinating activities and developments related to COVID-19 in Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange and Tyler counties:
- Total calls received since opening: 1693
- 756 have been referred for testing since the call center opened on March 20
- 83 were tested at the drive-through site Tuesday in Jefferson County
- 14 were tested at the drive-through site Tuesday in Hardin County
In addition to the drive through testing site at the Jack Brooks Regional Airport in Nederland, a second testing site opened in Hardin County.
Residents will need an appointment and a patient identification number to be tested at either location.
If you are experiencing symptoms (fever, dry cough, shortness of breath) or you believe you have been exposed to an infected individual, you can call 409-550-2536 to be evaluated for testing.
The Call Center is open 24-hours, seven days a week.
