A 31-year-old Nederland man has been released from the hospital after someone he knew stabbed him multiple times with a pocketknife on Wednesday.
The assault happened at approximately 9 p.m. in the 2100 block of Birch Street, where police found the victim with serious injuries.
He was brought to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses said a Hispanic male known to the victim approached during a verbal altercation, brandished a knife and stabbed him several times in the upper part of his body before fleeing on foot.
Police are not releasing any additional suspect information at this time, PAPD Det. Guedry said.
