Severe storms threat increases in regions around Port Arthur, Mid-County

The risk of severe storms has increased and come closer to Port Arthur and Mid-County, weather officials said at noon Tuesday.
The Storm Prediction Center upgraded the threat for severe storms to an enhanced 30 percent risk for southeast Texas and parts of western Louisiana.
According to the National Weather Service, while there will be some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon, the more significant weather will occur after midnight through early Wednesday morning.
Warning Coordination Meteorologist Roger Erickson said the primary hazard is damaging winds and hail.
An isolated tornado is possible.
