It is with great sadness that the family of David Allen Ronquille announces his passing on December 2, 2023 in the ICU of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

David was born on August 6, 1963 in Port Arthur, Texas and was an easygoing, kind-hearted man who was quick to laugh and lived as a testament to the power of hard work and selflessness.

Predeceased by his parents, Jessie and Maude Ronquille, David is survived and will be profoundly missed by his loving wife of 32 years, Margaret.

His penchant for unfinished projects and knot-tying will live on through his four children, Rebekah Rudnick, Jessie Ronquille, Rachel Ronquille, and Aaron Ronquille, as well as his five cherished grandchildren, Carmen, Jack, Jesus, Julian, and Barbara.

Other survivors include his siblings Jessie Paul Ronquille Jr., Mary Lou Hagen, Chester Ronquille, Denise Bean, and Phyllis Thibodeaux as well as numerous loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David enjoyed many, many things. Among those things were fishing, camping, movies with particularly bad special-effects, motorcycles, Army surplus stores, shooting guns, strong black coffee, and above all, his family.

He was the official distributor of popsicles and ice cream sandwiches to his grandchildren.

On December 9th, a holy rosary in David’s memory will be held at St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus in Port Arthur, Texas at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass.

Tremendous and heartfelt thanks go to the exceptional nurses and doctors at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David’s name can be made to St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.
