Man jailed after allegedly leading police on high-speed chase from Nederland to Port Arthur

Bond is set at $23,500 for a man who allegedly led police on a high speed chase from Nederland to Port Arthur Thursday night.
The man is identified as Mario Alfredo Cabrera, 27.
Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter said officers attempted to stop a vehicle for expired registration in the 5000 block of Twin City Highway, but the driver did not stop.
The driver attempted to elude police, traveling at high speeds from Nederland into Port Arthur.
The driver was stopped around the 2800 block of 25th Street.
Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso confirmed the chase entered the city and deferred questions to Porter.
Cabrera was charged with evading arrest detention with a vehicle and bond set at $10,000, possession of a controlled substance, with bond at $10,000 and driving while intoxicated second offense with bond at $3,500.
