NEDERLAND — Andy McCall already knows he will be spending time at the soon-to-open Crumbl Cookies.
McCall lives in Mid County and now when his stepdaughter comes to visit he won’t have far to go to get her Crumbl Cookies fix. He won’t have to drive to Beaumont anymore to get the treats.
McCall was on hand Wednesday at the VIP opening and had a chance to sample cookies and see what the shop was all about.
McCall and others such as Nederland City Councilwoman Sylvia Root are aware of the Beaumont location which, when it opened last year, had a line wrapping around the building.
Jon Healy, who is one of the owners, said he and his wife Priscilla bought four franchises and opened the first one in March 2022. A year later they opened one in Lake Charles, then one in Baytown in July this year. The Nederland location at 1605 South U.S. 69 is located near The Schooner and officially opens Friday.
Root understands the popularity of the product and said she’s glad the owners decided to pace their business in the city.
Crumbl Cookies has a rotating menu that changes weekly. The flavors displayed Wednesday were semi-sweet chocolate chunk, ultimate peanut butter, Oreo and snickerdoodle.
As visitors mixed and mingled, a crew of workers were busy making cookies including the Wonkas Wildly Wonderful Red Velvety Cookie. The cookie is inspired by the upcoming Wonka movie.
Healy said the store has extra personnel on site to help with the opening and are hiring a minimum of 35 new people.
The Nederland location can be reached by calling 409-344-5569 or visited on the web at crumblcookies.com/txmidcounty.
