January 12, 2024, Doug Becker passed after a long hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born to the late John and Maxine Becker of Port Neches, Texas.

He has one brother, Wes Becker.

Doug attended Port Neches-Groves High School graduating in the Class of 1971 and maintained many lifelong friends.

He graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in 1980 and loved taking care of his patients until he retired in 2023.

Some of the many hobbies that he enjoyed were golfing, snow skiing, water skiing, scuba diving, flying his plane, riding his motorcycle, driving fast cars, and hunting with his son, grandsons and many lifelong friends.

Doug was a past board of directors for the Red Cross, United Way, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, District Eagle Board of review and EMS.

He was nominated for Texas Dentist of the Year in 2001.

He was a Boy Scout achieving Eagle Scout Rank. In Port Neches, Tx May 5 was declared Dr. Doug Becker Day!

He married Sonja Williams in August of 1979, and they have two children, Denise Becker and Brent Becker (wife, Krista Becker) and three grandchildren, Emily Becker, Cade Becker and Evan Becker.

As a family they attend Oakwood Baptist Church.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday January 17, 2024 with a visitation beginning at 12 noon followed by the service at 1:00 p.m. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas.

Memorials may be given in Doug‘s honor to the American Cancer Society.
