Port Arthur police have tentatively identified two people in connection with the Dec. 29 shooting of a local teen, though no arrests have been made as of Wednesday.
Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso said investigators have spoken with witnesses in the case, and video from the scene was released by law enforcement to the public.
The video showed two armed individuals with handguns ambush a vehicle with several juveniles inside.
The gunmen fired at the vehicle several times, seriously injuring a 16-year-old Memorial High School student.
The suspects were seen fleeing the scene on foot in a northeasterly direction.
The teen was shot multiple times in the early morning hours while at Sabina Townhomes in the 4100 block of 39th Street in Port Arthur.
The vehicle she was in was driven to the 3800 block of Russell Street in Groves and emergency services were rendered.
Duriso is asking anyone with information on the case to contact the police department at 409-983-8600 or call Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas at 409-833-TIPS. They may also submit a tip by downloading the P3 Tips app on a smart phone. Tips are anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
Police ask that anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
