A woman was interviewed by police and released after she reportedly struck a pedestrian Tuesday night, authorities said.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. in the 900 block of 9th Avenue.
Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso confirmed a transient was pushing a cart with belongings when the person was struck.
The victim was brought to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle returned to the scene and spoke with officers, then was released, Duriso said.
Charges are pending as police look at the entire collision scene, after which they will consult with the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.
