YMCA of Southeast Texas contributors celebrated a year of success and turned their eyes to more impact in Port Arthur and beyond.

The organization’s 121st Annual Meeting was held Tuesday at The Department Club at 1924 Lakeshore Drive. The event was catered by Darlean’s Market & Café.

Highlights included the announcements and confirmations of the 2024 board of directors.

They include President Stephen Townsend, Vice President Arlene LeBlanc, Secretary Susie Chirafis and Treasurer Steve Evans.

Director Kevin Pearson spoke about all that’s happened since COVID, sharing he arrived at the Y four years ago, only to have the plan shut down by the pandemic.

He spoke of the expansion in after-school care and increased children’s involvement, including the West Side Center, managing the Nederland pool, increased swimming lessons and more.
