BEAUMONT — The Golden Triangle Business Roundtable is welcoming the public as the host of the 2nd Annual Spindletop Showdown BBQ Cook-Off.

The fun is planned Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at ISTC, 3749 Highway 69N in Beaumont.

The Spindletop Showdown BBQ Cook-off hosts teams from local industrial facilities such as ExxonMobil, Cheniere, Motiva, Goodyear and Valero, as well as local contractor organizations such as ISTC Constructors, Echo Group, Ohmstede, Newtron, Contractor Service and Fabrication, and many more.

Judging begins at 11 a.m., and the winners will be announced at 2 p.m.

The cook-off is a family friendly event open to the public at $15 a ticket.

Each attendee will gain access to all-you-can-eat tastings from the cook-off teams, beverages donated by Del Pappa Distributors, and music. Children 14 and under will receive free admission with a family fun area of arts and crafts activities and bounce houses.

The Spindletop Showdown will continue GTBR’s mission of connecting industry. “Our goal is to bring our members and subscribers together to celebrate the commencement of the 33rd Annual GTBR Contractor Safety Awards season,” states Executive Director, Katie Celli.

“We hope to ignite engagement and place a strong focus on safety and fun because a safe and well-skilled workforce is an essential component to the success of Southeast Texas.”
