Authorities have identified the two victims recovered this week following their apparent drowning near Pleasure Island.
Justice of the Peace Joseph Guillory II said both men were Port Arthur residents.
The victims have been identified as 39-year-old Hector Ortis Ismael Castro and 37-year-old Bayardo Dublon.
According to Guillory, autopsies have bee ordered.
Dublon was found Friday at approximately 8 a.m. in the nearby marina.
A crew with a wildlife research vessel was servicing the vessel when the body was noticed in the water.
The search began Tuesday night after witnesses reported seeing two men in the water, but the males did not reemerge.
Guillory said it appeared one man fell into the water and the second man went in to help him.
The first victim, Castro, was recovered in the area of North Levee Road on Pleasure Island at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Multiple agencies have been part of the search; Port Arthur Police Department, Port Arthur Fire Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens.
