Mother, 11-year-old daughter injured in truck-pedestrian crash, police say

An 11-year-old girl suffered injuries to her femur after she and her mother were struck by a vehicle while crossing a section of Memorial Boulevard Monday night, police said.
The crash took place at approximately 9 p.m. in the 2500 block of Memorial Boulevard.
The mother and daughter were crossing the street when they were struck by a GMC pickup truck, Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso said.
The girl was seriously injured and brought to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
The mother was also brought to a Southeast Texas hospital.
Their current medical condition is not known as of Tuesday morning.
The driver of the truck stopped and is cooperating with police.
Duriso said the crash remains under investigation. No arrests were made.
