A robbery or transaction gone bad may be the cause of a shooting that left two men dead on Thursday.
Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso said the men were shot multiple times and were located at the 3400 6th St. location.
Duriso did not indicate if the men were found inside or outside of the garage apartment.
The deceased are identified as Alfred Glenn Scott Jr., 22, of Port Arthur and Corneileous Jarod Jones, 24 of Killeen. Neither man lived at the residence.
Duriso said they were possibly short term acquaintances.
A woman who lives at the garage apartment made the call to police at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
Duriso said police are searching for several persons of interest and can confirm they are investigating a tenant of the apartment.
Police are asking the public to check their security cameras from the time frame of midnight to 2 a.m. Thursday for any persons or vehicles seen in the neighborhood.
