Nederland maintenance retiree honored by city council

Danny Baker, a longtime employee of Nederland’s public works department, was honored at the most recent city council meeting on July 23.
Baker worked in city maintenance for 18 years. He spent 12 years in the sanitation department and served another six years in the streets department.
The city council recognized Baker’s long-standing record of public service and congratulated him on retirement with a small celebration and a cake.
His sister, Patty Harris. and mother, Margaret Baker, both attended the meeting to support their loved one.
