Groves PD asking for help identifying shooting suspect

The Groves Police Department is asking for help identifying the primary suspect in an August 10 shooting which left an 18-year-old dead.
The suspect is seen in photos sent by Groves PD via press release, which says the images were taken immediately before the shooting took place.
Police initially responded to a reports of a shooting at the Beverly Place Apartments located at 5307 Gulfway Drive in Groves. When officers arrived on scene around 1:57 a.m., they found one male victim on the ground in the parking lot.
The victim, identified as 18-year-old Jesus Garcia of Port Arthur, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. ordered an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing as detectives review surveillance footage, witness statements and other leads.
