A capital murder warrant has been issued for a man that allegedly killed another man in Harris County and dumped the body in Vidor.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office enlisted the assistance of Vidor Police Department last week to locate a dump site which was in the 1000 block of Old Highway 90. The body of a male was discovered and taken to the Southeast Texas Forensic Center in Beaumont for autopsy. The death is listed as a homicide.
The deceased is identified as Kelvin Hinton, 53, according to HCSO.
A capital murder warrant has been issued for Michael Maurice Mack, 48. As of Sunday morning he had not been located.
Deputies with Precinct 5 in Harris County were notified Aug. 14 of a possible homicide occurring at a home located at the 2500 block of Wells Stanton Court.
On arrival, deputies searched the home and found what appeared to be evidence of foul play, however, no body was found, according to information from HCSO
Deputies learned the victim’s body may have been transported from the home and “dumped” at another location.
Homicide and Crime Scene Investigations responded to the scene and conducted the preliminary investigation.
The information and evidence led investigators to the 1000 block of Old Highway 90 in Vidor where the body of Hinton was located.
HSCO believes Mack is the sole suspect in the case.
