Spindletop Center Announces New Leadership in Adult Mental Health Services Team

BEAUMONT — Spindletop Center has announced the promotion of Darby Reed-Pilant to the position of Director of Central Region Adult Mental Health for Spindletop Center.
As a leading provider in the field of clinical psychology and mental health services, Reed-Pilant brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the Spindletop team and the role, according to a news release from Spindletop.
She is the owner of Resilient Minds, PLLC, where she specializes in therapy, behavioral analysis/intervention, and psychological assessment, particularly for individuals with comorbid intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnoses. Reed-Pilant has successfully piloted groundbreaking care coordination programs and overseen crisis response efforts, showcasing unparalleled leadership and expertise. With a background in forensic neuropsychology, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every endeavor.
“It is difficult to summarize the excitement I have about taking on this new role. I was never someone who struggled to decide what I wanted to do career-wise. For me, it has always been this. There is nothing that compares to the feeling of watching the light coming back into a client’s eyes or knowing that we could shoulder some of their burdens,” Darby Reed-Pilant said.
Demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and growth, Reed-Pilant holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in family science, a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Psychology and is on the path to completing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Her accomplishments include being recognized as one of Southeast Texas’Top 40 Professionals Under 40, an active member of the Health Network Association, a distinguished speaker at the Communities Joined in Action National Conference 2024 and is a published researcher with a focus on interpersonal communication.
Reed-Pilant enjoys quality time with family, pets, and indulging in a good book. She spends time advocating for improved mental health services in the SETX region and aims to expand access to specialized treatments like eating disorder care and autism services in the future.
Reed-Pilant expresses, “I would love to expand our range of services to fill gaps in the treatment modalities available to Southeast Texans. Most importantly, I really hope to drive home Spindletop’s mission of providing our community with support. I want Southeast Texas to know this is the place to come and be cared for without judgment.
