Dunkleberger receives prestigious P.E.O. STAR Scholarship

Brylee Dunkleberger, a 2024 graduate of Nederland High School, was selected to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the Philanthropic Educational Organization International Sisterhood.

Dunkleberger was recommended by P.E.O. Chapter AT of Port Arthur.

Chapter AT commends Dunkleberger for her academic achievements, leadership, and service to both her school and community.

Dunkleberger, the daughter of Blake and Kristi Dunkleberger, will pursue the field of Pediatric Occupational Therapy and is enrolled in the University of Texas-Dallas.

She graduated fourth in her class, and was involved in Student Government, National Honor Society, Renaissance, and Bark Clubs (acts of kindness,) as well as varsity volleyball and track; breaking school records.

Dunkleberger has made positive impacts on others in church, school, and in her community.

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional women who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service, and potential for future success.

P.E.O., a Philanthropic Educational Organization, began with a bond of seven friends in 1869, has grown to around 5,600 chapters, and is one of the oldest women’s organizations in North America. The Sisterhood is passionate about celebrating and helping the advancement of women through education with scholarships, grants, awards, and loans. They also own and support Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri.
