On September 11, 2024, God chose to call Richie Dell Williams to her eternal home.
Richie was born January 30, 1954, in Hempstead, Texas to the late Flournoy Williams, Jr. and Rosa Lee Williams. She was the youngest of five children. Richie attended school in the Hempstead ISD, graduating from Sam Schwarz High School.
Richie has been a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for the last 49 years. She was employed with Valero Refinery for 43 years. After retiring from Valero, she became employed with the Port Arthur ISD where she served for 2 years.
Richie was a member of Rock Island Baptist Church where she served as a member of the mass choir, and a member of the Lofton Circle.
On February 14, 1998, Richie married the love of her life, Rev. Hardner Williams, Jr. Their union blessed them with five children, Tonya Cannon (Kevin) of Atlanta Georgia, Dennis Blackmon (Rhonda), of Port Arthur, Texas, Bennie Blackmon (Krystal), of Atlanta, Georgia, Kyron Williams of Houston, Texas and Krystin Williams of Beaumont, Texas.
Richie leaves behind cherished memories with her sibling Gloria D Gibson, her five children, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, her two God daughters Lakeisha White and Veronica Hornbuckle and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Richie was preceded in death by her parents, Flournoy and Rosa Lee Williams; her sister, Ada Ardoin, her two brothers Flournoy D. Williams III, and Willie Williams Sr.
Funeral service were at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Rock Island Baptist Church, 549 W. 11th Street, Port Arthur, Texas with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
