Saturday, Oct 19 update: Latest on Tropical Storm Oscar from the NHC

The National Hurricane Center issued the first advisory for the tropical storm at 10 am Saturday. Tropical Storm Oscar is 190 miles east-southeast of the Southeastern Bahamas and 495 miles east of Camaguey Cuba, with maximum sustained wind of 40 mph. It’s moving at 13 mph to the west.

WIND: Tropical storm conditions are expected to first reach the coast within the warning area by tonight, making outside preparations difficult or dangerous.

RAINFALL: Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches, with isolated amounts of 6 inches, are expected across the Turks and Caicos, southeastern Cuba, and the southeastern Bahamas through Tuesday.
