Fake gun on campus prompts brief lockdown at Nederland High School

NEDERLAND — Nederland High School was a brief lockdown after a student brought a fake gun on campus Tuesday morning.
The lockdown occurred around 9 a.m.
Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter said a 15-year-old student brought a lighter that looked like a gun to the school. The incident was reported and precautions were taken.
Porter said the student would likely face disciplinary action.
