David Alvin Woodcock, 80, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 24,2024. Born January 18,1944, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Vernon Woodcock and Sylvia Inman.

David’s siblings included; Danny Bentsen of Bleekwood ,Texas, Chris Bentsen of Hempstead, Texas and Ben Bentsen of Bendale, Mississippi. He is also survived y his sister Nancy Melacon of Jasper, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his sister Aletha Robert’s.

David was a man with a big heart, a rebellious spirit, and a knack for making people laugh. He did not know a stranger, and his humor could lighten up any room ~ even in his later years when he charmed the nurses in the nursing home.

In his younger years, David loved working on race cars, and he had a talent for training quarter horses. An adventurer at heart, he lived life on his own terms. It wasn’t about what he did for living, it rather by how much he lived. His life was marked by passion and an undeniable zest for living.

David’s greatest legacy is his family. He is survived by his loving children Brenda Dalton, Jolie Sanders, and Brittney Woodcock. He was proceeded in death by his children Stacey Woodcock and David Woodcock, Jr. David also left behind a great number of nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

David’s life, like many, was one of ups and downs it through it all, he remained true to himself. His adventurous spirt, mischievous nature, charismatic personality, and kind heart will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Services are at Vision Outreach Church in Bleekwood, Texas on Saturday December 7, at 11 am. His final resting place, The church and cemetery is owned by his brother Danny Bentsen, who will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask you to honor David’s memory by sharing a laugh or embracing life’s adventures, just as he always did.
