“Ricki was a devoted husband, father, and friend who always put his family first. His loss has left an unimaginable void in our lives,” Latoyna Slone penned.

“As I grieve this heartbreaking loss, I’m also faced with the financial challenges of funeral expenses and supporting our family. I’m asking for your help to honor Ricki’s memory and provide for our family during this difficult time.”

Ricki Bernard Slone Jr., 46, of Port Arthur was killed in an industrial accident Saturday at Sterling Shipyard, 906 Main Ave. in Port Neches.

Justice of the Peace Ben Collins. Sr. ordered an autopsy.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, initial reports indicate the fork lift Sloane was operating rolled over, killing him.

Port Arthur Newsmedia contacted the shipyard Monday for a comment but had not heard from them by press time.
