PORT NECHES — The Port Neches Chamber of Commerce board is once again looking for an executive director with the recent resignation of its newest leader.
Ashley Ramirez was officially hired in early July; she submitted her resignation earlier this month.
Lauren Rahe, director of RiverFest who was hired at the same time is assisting the chamber in the interim, board president Lance Bradley said.
The board is actively looking for a new director through job site postings and word of mouth.
Bradley said the chamber is fortunate to have Rahe help in the interim especially since RiverFest festival is right around the corner.
The goal is to have a new executive director in place within the next 60 days.
The chamber board wishes Ramirez well in her new endeavors, Bradley said.
Ramirez was tagged to lead the chamber as director with the departure of former chamber director Crystal Jordan.
Jordan served for two years before saying goodbye to move on to a different job.
Jordan took the place of longtime director Debbie Plaia for almost 20 years. The successful Port Neches RiverFest came about under Plaia’s leadership.
