It is with profound sorrow and unwavering faith that we announce the passing of our beloved Dr. Shari Lynn Maiben-Ehridge on Christmas Eve, surrounded by the love of her family. Shari was born on November 1, 1961, to Margarette McDaniel and Elliott Clyde Maiben Sr, who have preceded in death. She was a 1980 honors graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, where her talent in track and field led her to a 4-year scholarship to Prairie View A&M University, with further graduate honors in nursing at McNeese State University. She went on to have a remarkable 32-year career as a registered nurse.

Shari is survived by her husband, Leroy Ethridge Jr., and children: Derrick, Demetrius, Donovan, Dominique, and Desireé Ethridge, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, siblings: Felicia Ann Taylor (Houston, TX), Elliott and Sandy Maiben Jr. (Corona, CA), and Anissa Maiben (Tacoma, WA); and many nieces and nephews and cousins whose lives she impacted with great love and light.

Shari was a woman of deep faith, having earned a Doctorate of Theology degree at Living Word Christian Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and the honor of being valedictorian. She served and spread the word of God to many communities, and showcased a life that was marked by unwavering love, compassion, and a dedication to her family and faith. Her legacy and spirit will be cherished by all who knew her.
