BETTY JOHN STATON

Betty John Staton, 96, of Columbus, formerly of Port Arthur, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Betty was born on November 23, 1928, in Port Arthur, Texas to parents
Gertrude (Hartman) and John Peter Salem. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, and she also worked in the family business (Salem Drug Company) as a secretary for many years.

Betty and her husband, Perry, owned and operated several convenience stores in the Port Arthur area. She enjoyed going shopping, working in her yard and traveling with her husband in their RV across the US, going to Canton, Texas and seeing the Mall of America. Betty loved spending time with her family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death her parents, John and Gertrude Salem and her son, Greg Allen Staton in 2014.
