Gwendolyn Ann Scott was called to her heavenly home on January 14,2025. She was born on October 27, 1969 in Port Arthur. she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Raymond Scott, Sr. and Kallie Jones Scott, and her mother-in-law, Geneva Johnson.

Gwendolyn was member of Shiloh Baptist Church, and later relocated to Dallas, Tx. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Port Arthur in 1988.

At the time of her passing, she was employed with First American (formerly Service Mac).

On October 12, 2001 Gwendolyn and Nathaniel Johnson were married in Dallas, Tx. In 2021, she relocated to Houston to be near her family.

Gwendolyn is survived by her husband, Nathaniel Johnson, her three children, Desiray Scott Jasean O’ Brien, and Kobe Johnson. 9 brothers: Raymond, Jr., Steven, Sr. James, Darell Curtis, Rev. Richard, Sr. Jessie, Roderick and Lyndon Scott, Sr.; 2 sisters: Sharon Ned and Rhonda Drew; 12 grandchildren: Jordan, Armani, Tommy, Autumn and Amiri; Ki’yomi, Ke’Lani, and Kh’loe; Brianna, Tramon and Bentley; Aunts: Marybelle Maze and Ruby Garner, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11 AM at Rock Island Baptist Church, 549 W.11th Street, Port Arthur TX. Wake service will be January 31, at 6PM to 8PM at Gabriel Funeral Home, 3800 Memorial Blvd, Port Arthur, TX. Burial at Live Oak Cemetery following funeral.
