GROVES — Daniel Duplechin wants people to know The Lodges at Oak Grove is different from what they may be familiar with.
The soon-to-open, newly constructed skilled therapy center located at 6230 Warren St. features a Hill Country style vibe, 21 private rooms, physical therapy area and much more.
“This is a small unit and I can provide good care and that’s important to me,” Duplechin said, adding he wants all that come through the facility to have a good experience and in turn share the news.
The Lodges is adjacent to Oak Grove Nursing Home, a long term facility and the two connect with a wing. A sizable investment was made to add 20,000-square feet to the existing 28,000-square foot footprint.
Duplechin said the clients that come to the facility for therapy will not be held back.
“They’re coming in and need to perform exercises to build up their strength and build back their functionality as high as possible before they can go home, and transition to home health,” he said. “Here, we don’t limit their therapy.”
Besides the usual equipment in the physical therapy room there is also a kitchen area and bathroom to help the patient work on skills they would do at home. Some of the therapy even has the patient practicing getting in and out of a vehicle.
The rooms at the facility all share the Hill Country style, there is a dining area, a coffee bar, seating area where they can sit down and play checkers or chess or just chat with others, a state-of-the-art movie theater, physical therapy and rehabilitation studio.
The Lodges at Oak Grove are set to open in the near future.
