PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves Lady Indians continue to dominate its own softball tournament with two more victories on Friday.

PN-G smashed the Kirbyville Lady Wildcats 15-0 on a cold Friday afternoon and then, in the evening, handled the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns 12-2 for its fourth victory in two days at the Port Neches-Groves Slugfest Softball Tournament.

Lady Indians pitcher McKayla Hranicky took care of business in the first inning and kept the Lady Wildcats from crossing home plate. Then, in the bottom of the first, Hranicky led off the PN-G batting lineup with a single which was followed by a double by Addyson Brent, which scored Hranicky for a quick 1-0 PN-G lead. The Lady Indians never looked back as PN-G led 4-0 after one inning.

Hranicky allowed two hits in the second inning, but added another strikeout to her total and kept Kirbyville off the scoreboard as PN-G pounded the Lady Wildcats pitcher for five more runs in the bottom of the second inning, including a triple from short stop Kaelyn Dartez.

PN-G added six more runs in the third inning as Dartez smashed a three run home run and Marquise Gassen smacked another three-run homer to close out the game for the 15-0 win.

Hranicky finished the game with four strikeouts and two walks, while allowing four hits. The PN-G batters had 16 hits, which included the two home runs.

On Thursday, the first day of the tournament, PN-G defeated Bridge City 5-0, and then, later in the day, beat Orangefield 4-3.
