Port Neches man allegedly ignores police, drives home; surrenders to SWAT hours later

PORT NECHES — A Port Neches man refused to stop for police officers and drove to his home instead leading to a response from SWAT overnight, an official said.

Port Neches Police Officer Austin Guerrero attempted a traffic stop of a person known to have felony warrants at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on Saba Lane. The person reportedly continued driving until he reached his home on Gist Drive, PNPD Chief Cheri Griffith said.

The driver then got out of the vehicle and went inside the home ignoring the officers’ commands.

Police set up a perimeter around the home and attempted multiple times unsuccessfully to have the man exit the residence.

 Police then called in Jefferson County SWATand the man eventually exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident just before 2 a.m. Thursday, she said

The subject is identified as Jordan Davis, 35, of Port Neches. He was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and booked in for evading arrest/detention using a vehicle in addition to warrants for interference with emergency request for assistance, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
