Port Arthur- John A. Keyes, 69, of Port Arthur, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Albert Keyes on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Born on October 19,1955, to Myrtle and George Keys. John was a proud native of Port Arthur and a skilled electrician who could wire up just about anything. Whether fixing a car, building a sound system, or lending a helping hand, he put his heart into everything he did. John had a deep love for music and cars. His garage was always alive with the sounds of his favorite songs, blasting through speakers that he wired himself. Music wasn’t just something he listened to; it was something he felt, something he shared. His sound carried through the neighborhood just like his generosity and warmth. Above all, John was a man of kindness and family. He took care of everyone, offering wisdom, laughter, and a place to belong. His presence was a gift, and his absence will be deeply felt. He is survived by his children. Mary Keyes, Ja’Rohn Keyes, and Therowayne Fields, Eurick Fields; his five grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Harris. He is united in peace with his daughter, Alma A. Keyes; his parents; and his brothers Henry, Roland George Philip, and Murphy Martin Keys. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm at Gabriel Funeral Home Inc, 2500 Proctor Street in Port Arthur, Texas. John lived loud, loved deeply and left a legacy that will never fade.
