Divers with the Port Arthur Fire Department have recovered a body from Alligator Bayou Wednesday.
Kim Reyes was leaving work near Alligator Bayou off Texas 82 when he noticed the body in the water. He said he called 911 at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Port Arthur police and fire departments responded to the scene.
Acting Fire Chief Robert Havens said once the body is recovered it will be turned over to the Jefferson County Morgue and the police will handle the investigation.
Officials said it appears the body was in the water for a while.
