PORT NECHES — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash with a vehicle Wednesday in Port Neches.

Port Neches Police Chief Cheri Griffith said the crash happened at approximately 5:15 p.m. at Texas Avenue and 8th Street. The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

The vehicle involved in the crash stayed at the scene. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
