Saddle up as the South Texas State Fair rides into town this weekend

BEAUMONT – The South Texas State Fair returns to Doggett Ford Park this weekend, bringing rides, rodeo, and plenty of other attractions for the whole family. The fair is open from March 27 – April 6 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends.
This year’s fair, hosted by the Young Men’s Business League, features over 175 exhibits and concessions to enjoy while participating in various carnival rides and games.
Returning this year is the YMBL Rodeo, featuring play-by-play by eight-time Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association champion Don Gay. The rodeo is free with fair admission ticket on the days of the rodeo. Times and dates for the Rodeo events can be found at ymbl.org
Doggett Ford Exhibit hall will feature the local School Art Display, Photo Contest and Shows to highlight the creations of local students from Jefferson and surrounding counties. The Quilt and Open Photo contest are open to the public, more information is available at ymbl.org.
Doggett Ford Pavillion will feature the Gator Country Roadshow, highlighting conservation efforts for the American alligator and educating the public on various other reptiles in the area. The Pavillion will host the Motiva Kids Fun Zone, Double R. Exotics Petting Zoo and Camel and Pony rides.
Doggett Ford Plaza hosts the Miller Lite Beer Garden and Plaza Stage to sit back and relax with a beverage while enjoying the various musical performances scheduled for the fair.
