Port Neches standoff leads to arrest

Aaron Dupuis, 36, is in custody after Port Neches Police attempted to serve a warrant to a person that had barricaded himself in his apartment for over two hours.
Police received a call at around 10 a.m. about a theft at local convenience store. The suspect was identified as Dupuis who had an active county warrant. When police arrived at Dupuis residence at The Palms Apartment complex on Ridgewood Drive in Port Neches, the suspect barricaded himself inside his apartments and refused to cooperate with officers.
Port Arthur SWAT team was contacted to assist after officers on site hear what they believed to shots being fired according to Port Neches Police Department.
The Port Neches Police department, Port Arthur SWAT team and Nederland police officers responded to the stand-off at the Palm Springs Apartment complex in Port Neches.
The suspect was arrested at roughly 1 p.m.
