Shari has spent over 35 years helping kids and families, making a difference in the lives of foster children across Texas. Inspired by the passing of a close friend, Pulliam embarked on a lifelong mission to support children in need, serving as a compassionate advocate and mentor to hundreds of youth.

“She means everything to everyone,” said Brandy Wagner, Pulliam’s assistant. “The kids love her because she makes them feel seen, loved, and appreciated.”

Her son, Otis, who nominated her, expressed deep gratitude for the selfless love she’s given both to their family and the children she serves. “You’re the glue that holds our family together,” he shared. “We love you and are so grateful.”

Pulliam has served thousands of children throughout her career, offering hope, love, and stability. Her husband of 37 years, Art Pulliam, called her “the most wonderful woman in the world,” adding, “I think you’d be hard-pressed to find someone with a bigger heart.”

As one of the local honorees, Pulliam is now in the running for the national Remarkable Woman of the Year title. Finalists will be honored in Los Angeles, and the national winner will receive a $25,000 donation to a nonprofit of her choice from the Nexstar Charitable Foundation.
