The Museum of the Gulf Coast will host a special ceremony honoring Ty Robinson as the Bum Phillips Golden Triangle Coach of the Year. The event will take place at 1 p.m. April 30 at the Museum, 700 Procter St.
Robinson, who recently accepted the head coaching position at Crawford High School, is being recognized for his outstanding leadership and historic success at Woodville High School, according to a news release from Hardin-Jefferson Independent School District.
In the most recent season, Robinson guided the Woodville Eagles to their first-ever state championship appearance, capping off a remarkable 13-3 campaign.
Over his nine seasons at Woodville, Robinson compiled a 79-28 record, leading the program to eight playoff appearances. His overall head coaching record stands at an impressive 110-70.
This prestigious award, named in honor of the legendary Bum Phillips, celebrates excellence in coaching and the positive impact on athletes and communities across Southeast Texas.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony and celebrate Coach Robinson’s remarkable accomplishments.
