The City of Port Arthur’s Parks and Recreation Department hosted its annual Earth Day celebration, bringing together over 100 volunteers to beautify the community. Dominique Gobert, administrative aide, shared that the day’s efforts included picking up litter and planting trees and flowers at key locations such as Alvesta Park, Washington Park, Barbara Jacket Park, Pioneer Park, City Hall, and the Proctor Street pavilion.
Volunteers from groups like the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Top Teens of America, Kent, PLC, Motiva, and BASF participated in the cleanup and beautification projects. With music, teamwork, and community spirit, the event highlighted Port Arthur’s commitment to environmental stewardship and local pride.
