LSCPA honors standout local businesses at 2025 small business awards banquet

Lamar State College Port Arthur Small Business Development Center continues to celebrate and honor local small businesses with its 2025 Annual Small Bussiness Awards Banquet.

 

“Small businesses are the heartbeat of our economy, the lifeblood of our communities and the embodiment of resilience and determination tonight,” said Dana Espinal, LSCPA SBDC Director. “We honor not only those who have excelled in their fields but also the collective impact of small businesses in our local and regional growth, as we’re reflecting these milestones and look ahead. To the future, let us take this opportunity to celebrate the successes, share the stories and reaffirm our commitment to empowering the next generation of small business leaders.”

The banquet set out to honor 16 local businesses in Jefferson and Orange County for all kinds of businesses. 

 

Area Chamber of Commerce – Business of the Year Winners:

  • Nederland Chamber of Commerce & Tourist Center – The Golden Cup
  • Groves Chamber of Commerce – Maria’s Diner 
  • Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce – Mason Construction, LLC 
  • Port Neches Chamber of Commerce – E.Sullivan Ad – Design, Inc.
  • Hispanic Business Association of Southeast Texas – Wendler Law Group, PLLC 
  • Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce – Matthews Jewelers-Orange
  • Vidor Chamber of Commerce – Texas Stage, LLC
  • Bridge City Chamber of Commerce – Miss B’s Take Out 

 

Several businesses were also recognized for long and storied history in the region:

 

  • Hayes Real Estate – Established in 1932
  • Mire Cabinet Works, Inc. -Established in 1946
  • T&T Pharmacy – Established in 1955
  • Bridge City Bank – Established in 1959
  • Farmer Mercantile – Established in 1948
