Port Arthur mayoral race heads to runoff

The Port Arthur mayoral race is headed for a runoff after no candidate succeeded in achieving more than 50% of the vote.  The voting totals go as follows:

 

Charlie Lewis, Jr.  1,079 total votes or 30.01%

Allen “Opie” Valka  111 total votes or 3.09%

Chuck Vincent 664 total votes or 18.46%

Charlotte M. Moses 1,742 total votes or 48.44%

 

The runoff election is set for June 7.

 

Port Arthur Prop A has passed with 2,029 total votes or 59.40% approval. Prop B has passed with 1,860 total votes or 55.36% approval. 

 

Port Arthur ISD Trustee Jacori Narcisse and Kimberly Johnson win their races. Duante Grogan bows out with 12.73% of the vote and 577 total votes.
