Ramie J. Pierce has been promoted to the rank of sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Pierce, a paralegal specialist with two years of military service, is assigned to Headquarters, 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas.

She is the daughter of James C. and Vicki L. Johnson of 63rd St., Port Arthur. The sergeant graduated in 2006 from Bridge City High School.
