The Port Arthur Independent School District rescheduled its first community conversation on student discipline Tuesday, moving the discussion to Thursday night.

The community meeting is now scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Memorial High School auditorium.

A second meeting, also on student discipline, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, in the Travis Elementary School cafeteria.

Both meetings are open to all PAISD parents and the community as a whole.

PAISD Superintendent Mark Porterie and other district leaders will be available at both meetings to address student discipline within PAISD and address parent-district expectations before the start of school on Monday, Aug. 24.

The first community conversation was previously scheduled for Tuesday night, but PAISD sent a press release Tuesday afternoon with the change.
