‘No credibility,’ NISD officials say of social media threat rumors

Nederland Independent School District officials released a statement Friday morning about social media posts regarding NISD schools and students.
“The District has received calls concerning the rumors about threats to schools and students being posted on social media. These rumors appear every year around the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. They are also being posted in other areas of the state and nation.
There is no credibility to these rumors nor are there any specific threats to Nederland schools. The District and theNederland Police Department will continue to monitor these postings as a precaution and will provide further information if it becomes available.”
