Mrs. Queen Ester Jenkins-Jacobs was born July 20, 1938, in Evergreen, Louisiana to Mr. Elgie Sr. and Carrie Clayton-Jenkins.
Queen found Christ at an early age, and after graduating from Carver High School in Bunkie, LA, she moved to Port Arthur, TX.
Queen was a devoted member of New Saint John Missionary Baptist Church until she transitioned from this place to heaven on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age of 85.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Bridgette Hilstock (Walter), of Mesquite, Texas, and Keisha Jacobs, of Little Elm, Texas; sister/best friend, Elizabeth “Liz” Miles, of Alexandria, LA; brother, Edward Jenkins Sr, of Port Arthur, TX; grandchildren, Briana and Kiara Hilstock, Camille and Collin Sylvester, “Fur” grand-kitty, Marie; great-grandchildren, Ahmir and Amari Knox; goddaughter, Sally Shuler, of Houston, TX; best friend Janet Freyou and her family; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Queen was preceded in death by her parents, Elgie, Sr., and Carrie Clayton Jenkins; her husband, Hilton Jacobs; brothers, Robert Jenkins, Herman Jenkins, Joe Benton “JB” Jenkins, Richard Jenkins, Elgie Jenkins, Jr., and William Jenkins; sisters, Mary Lee Jackson, and Carrie Lee Washington.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023, at New Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, 1048 West Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, TX, with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time. Pastor Claude Comeaux, Jr., officiating.
Burial follows in Live Oak Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
