GROVES — Groves Police Department officers responded Wednesday to reports of a possible burglary in progress within the 3700 block of Debbie Street.
Initial reports indicated four to five individuals wearing face coverings were observed potentially burglarizing a local residence.
Upon arrival, Groves officers confirmed the burglary and located two suspects in a nearby field, leading to a foot pursuit.
Both individuals were apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.
During the search, officers discovered a backpack containing a jamming device, which had been actively disrupting police radio communications and is suspected to have been used to aid in the burglary.
During the operation, as officers were crossing 39th Street, a vehicle approached slowly and nearly collided with them.
The officers quickly intervened and stopped the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was determined the driver was connected to the ongoing burglary case and had associations with the two suspects who had already been arrested.
Arrested were:
- Pedro Henry charged with engaging in organized criminal activity ($100,000 bond), interference with radio frequency ($10,000 bond) and unlawful use of a criminal instrument ($20,000 bond).
