A driver is dead following a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso said the name of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The crash took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday at 7th Street and Woodworth Boulevard and involved a Nissan and Hyundai Elantra.

The driver of the Nissan died at the scene, and the driver of the Hyundai was taken to a hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Advanced Accident Investigation Team, Duriso said.
