Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

That title is something I have been telling myself this past year to keep me motivated for the Miss Texas USA pageant. With the pageant almost a week away, it seems like there is so much left to be done, but oh how I am so excited.

Before I get too ahead, let me introduce myself to you all.

My name is Madison Goudeaux, a 20-year-old Port Arthur native and a certified girly girl representing our small town in the Miss Texas USA pageant this June.

I am a junior at The University of Texas At Austin to receive my Bachelor of Science in Advertising with a minor in Journalism and Media.

However, before I was studying on the forty acres. I was just a shy girl waiting for her moment to shine.

I absolutely adored the idea of wearing pretty dresses and walking across the stage. From the moment I stepped foot on that stage, it felt like home.

Next thing you know, I was a pageant girl through and through.

As I got old, pageants soon became more than just dressing, but a chance for me to express myself and be a role model for young girls.

I’ll never forget the day I watched the Miss USA pageant and told my mom “That will be me one day.”

It has been years since I’ve said that and I believe that time has officially come and I cannot wait for what this new journey has in store for me.

That said let me tell you a little bit about how the Miss Texas USA pageant works.

3 categories are judged; Interview, the ‘infamous’ Swimwear, and Evening wear. All of these are considered equally.

While the majority of the work comes from me, People’s Choice is your chance to help me out!

Miss Texas holds a contest called People’s Choice, one month before crowning. The people (that’s you) can vote as many times as they’d like for the winner.

The coolest part of it all is the winner is automatically put into the Top 15 to be in the running for the crown.

So, what I am asking of you is to vote for me as many times as you can.

Tell your mom, your dad, and your dog! Every little vote helps and I greatly appreciate it, whether I know you or not.

Below you will find a link that will bring you directly to the voting page and just look for my face and the title Port Arthur.

It is $2 a vote, but as I said one vote means so much to me.

I truly hope to be a model representation of Port Arthur and have your support.

I appreciate you for helping my 8-year-old self achieve her dreams.
